Before the delegation: the line that morning

An hour and a half before the Minister of Industry arrived on 23 August 2026, the camera walked the upholstery halls: padding, sewing, the kiosk and finishing. Nine minutes, ten frames, labelled for what they are.

Every visit report shows a factory with guests in it. This one shows the same halls earlier the same day, before anyone arrived to see them. The photographer covering the visit walked the upholstery side of the floor in the morning, and the frames below follow that walk in order.

Each station carries the time elapsed since the first frame of the morning, on the camera's own clock. On that clock, the delegation arrived one hour and thirty-five minutes after the first frame. Workers are not named.

Wadding over the frame

The first frame of the morning is a stapler at work: polyester wadding being fixed over a rounded sofa form FIG 01. A minute later, at the next table, wadding was being shaped by hand over a round plywood frame for a curved seat FIG 02. Down the hall, wadded forms stood on a row of work stands under the FURX wall mark, with foam seat shells waiting in front FIG 03.

Covers are sewn before they reach the frame

In the sewing section, three operators were stitching upholstery covers on industrial machines under the wall mark FIG 04. A cover is cut and sewn as a separate piece, then carried to the finishing hall to be fitted. Forty-six seconds later the camera was along the row, at a textured cover fabric under the needle FIG 05.

A work order, logged

At kiosk KSK-001, a team member in a FURX vest was logging a paper work order FIG 06. The guide on the wall, written in Egyptian Arabic, sets out the routine in four steps: look at the camera, scan the code, start work, done. Three status buttons cover paused, continue and no work; a separate one reports a defect. Two lines at the bottom: use your own account only, and if you don't know, ask the supervisor FIG 07.

Covers on, and the layer underneath

The finishing hall held finished bouclé sofas on the floor and equipped stations along the wall FIG 08. Ten seconds later, along a protected work runner, upholsterers were fitting covers and dust-cover cloth on sofa bodies FIG 09. The last frame of the morning is that final layer: black dust-cover cloth stapled to the underside of a sofa body, the part a buyer never sees FIG 10.
